Terms & Conditions

These Terms explain the rules for using UniGo. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the platform.

Last updated: 23 August 2026 Applies to all UniGo users

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and ryanDev (“UniGo”, “we”, “us”). They govern access to the UniGo application and related services.

UniGo helps students discover universities and helps universities present programmes, posts, and admissions information. Some features, including university replies to student inquiries, require an active university subscription.

These Terms are a draft for internal and legal review. They are not a certified legal opinion.

2. Definitions

3. Eligibility

You may use UniGo only if you can form a binding contract under applicable law and you meet UniGo’s minimum age: 13 years

University accounts must be created by a person authorised to represent the institution. Providing false authority is a serious breach of these Terms.

4. Account registration

You must provide accurate information, keep your password confidential, and tell us if you believe your account has been misused. You are responsible for activity under your account.

UniGo may require email verification before full access. We may refuse, suspend, or close accounts that appear fraudulent, incomplete, or in violation of these Terms.

5. Student accounts

Student accounts are intended for people exploring higher education. Students may browse universities, follow campuses, view posts, comment and like where those features are available, manage a profile, and send inquiries.

Students must not impersonate another person, harass institutions or other users, or use inquiries to spam universities.

6. University accounts

University accounts may create an institutional profile, publish posts, add programmes and admission information, upload campus media, and, where subscribed, view and reply to student leads.

Universities are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of information they publish, including admissions claims, fees, deadlines, scholarships, and programme availability. UniGo does not guarantee that any listing will produce applications or enrolments.

Without an active subscription, a university must not use notification shortcuts, recent-activity links, or other workarounds to open or reply to paid lead conversations.

7. University verification

Universities may be asked to submit government recognition documents and representative identification. Verification is a review process, not a government licence and not a guarantee of academic quality.

UniGo may approve, reject, or later revoke verification. A verified badge, where shown, only means UniGo’s review process was completed at a point in time.

Impersonating an institution, submitting another organisation’s documents, or misrepresenting a representative’s authority is prohibited.

8. User responsibilities

9. Acceptable use

Use UniGo only for legitimate education-discovery and institutional communication. Do not interfere with the Platform, scrape it in an abusive way, or attempt to bypass security, subscription, or verification controls.

10. User-generated content

You keep rights you already have in content you own. You grant UniGo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, and communicate that content solely as needed to operate, improve, and promote the Platform (for example, showing a post in another user’s feed).

This licence is only as broad as needed to run UniGo. It does not transfer ownership of your content to UniGo.

You are responsible for content you submit, including comments, images, videos, and profile text. Do not post unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually exploitative, or infringing material.

11. University content

University posts, programmes, admission requirements, and profile claims must not be misleading. Do not advertise programmes you do not offer, invent scholarships, or use another campus’s branding without permission.

Universities must not misuse student inquiry data (for example, selling student contact details obtained through UniGo, or contacting students for unrelated commercial purposes without a lawful basis).

12. Intellectual property

UniGo’s name, design, software, and original materials belong to UniGo or its licensors. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or reuse them except as allowed by law or a written permission from us.

If you believe content on UniGo infringes your rights, contact [OFFICIAL EMAIL ADDRESS] with enough detail for us to identify the material.

13. Platform licence

UniGo grants you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. We may update the app, and some features may require a current version.

14. Prohibited activities

You must not:

15. University subscriptions

Certain university features, including viewing and replying to student leads, are part of a paid Premium subscription. The price shown in the app at checkout is the price that applies for that purchase (currently presented as 5,000 FCFA per month, subject to change in the product).

A subscription does not guarantee a number of leads, enrolments, or ranking in discovery.

16. Payments

Payments may be made using the mobile-money methods offered in the app (currently MTN and Orange for Cameroon numbers). UniGo may record the method, phone number, amount, and period for billing history.

A third-party processor may collect the payment. Until a live processor is fully connected, some confirmation steps in the app may still be operational placeholders. You should only complete a payment you intend to make.

17. Promoted or boosted posts

UniGo may offer promoted or boosted posts in the future. Unless a promotion product is clearly available in your account, you should not assume a post is paid advertising. If UniGo later enables promotions, additional pricing and rules will be shown at the point of purchase.

18. Ambassador services

UniGo includes ambassador-related account types and invitation flows, and may offer paid ambassador services to universities. Some of those experiences are still being completed in the product. Where a feature is marked as coming soon, it is not a live paid service until UniGo enables it.

Universities remain responsible for how they work with ambassadors and for any claims ambassadors make about the institution.

19. Refunds and cancellations

Until that policy is published, subscription status in the app (active, inactive, or expired) is the operational record of access. Expiry ends paid lead access even if historical conversations remain stored.

20. Notifications and communications

By creating an account, you agree that UniGo may send service messages, including verification results, security notices, and activity notifications. You can adjust notification preferences in the app. Marketing messages, if any, will follow applicable rules and any consent UniGo is required to obtain.

21. Third-party services

UniGo relies on providers such as Firebase (authentication, database, messaging), Supabase Storage (media and verification files), device notification services, and Google Fonts. Their outages or policy changes can affect UniGo. UniGo is not responsible for third-party websites you open from a university profile (for example an institution’s own website).

22. Platform availability

UniGo aims to keep the service available but does not promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance, network issues, or provider outages may occur. Features may differ by account type, verification status, or subscription.

23. Disclaimer

UniGo is a discovery and communication platform. It is not a university, an admissions office, or an accreditation body. Information published by universities is their responsibility. UniGo does not warrant that any programme, scholarship, deadline, or campus claim is complete or current.

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

24. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, UniGo and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for loss of opportunity, enrolment, or reputation arising from use of the Platform or from university-published information.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud or personal injury where such exclusion is prohibited.

25. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify UniGo against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your content, your misuse of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

26. Account suspension and termination

UniGo may remove content, restrict features, suspend an account, or terminate an account where we reasonably believe there is a breach of these Terms, legal risk, fraud, impersonation, or harm to users. We do not claim to review every piece of content manually, but we may investigate reports and act on them.

You may delete your account in the app where that option is provided. After termination, licences you granted may continue only as needed to operate remaining copies of content (for example a comment still displayed in a thread) or to meet legal duties.

27. Changes to the platform

UniGo may add, change, or remove features, including subscription benefits, notification types, and account roles. We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we do not guarantee that any feature will remain available forever.

28. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. If you continue to use UniGo after an update, the new Terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using the Platform and delete your account.

29. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of The Republic of Cameroon, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would apply another jurisdiction’s law, except where mandatory consumer protections say otherwise.
